Del Newbigging graduated in Fine Arts at McMaster University, Hamilton, Canada. He has also studied at Wayne Sate University (Detroit), York University (Toronto), Windsor University (Windsor), Sheridan College (Mississauga) and workshops and courses in many other places. His first sculpture teacher was Dora de P├ędery-Hunt. He enjoys creating in many disciplines and his artworks have found homes in Canada, United States, Australia and Europe.

With a lengthy background in education, Del has extensive experience in many artistic fields. For the past few years he has concentrated on scupture and the art of the medal.
